Former mining town at foothills of Žacléř ridge. First mentioned in 14th century in context with castle Scheczler. The town was a centre of coal-mining, but it finished in 19th century.

Dominant of the town is the chateau, which was several rebuilt (last time in 19th century). Interesting is also the church of Nejsvětější Trojice from the 16th century.
